Why Prosperity Preaching is Wrong!

In these last days, the church has
called for preachers who only tell
them what they want to hear; those
teachers that won't even preach a
third of the bible. "For the time
will come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but after their own
lusts shall they draw to themselves
teachers, having itching ears; And
they shall turn away their ears from
the truth, and shall be turned unto
myths." [2 Timothy 4:3-4]. The main
tenant of the prosperity doctrine is
that if you have money its because God
is pleased with you and has blessed
you, and that if far from true. [1
Timothy 6:5] states that gain is not
godliness and is not a sign of God's
favor. Real prosperity is being
content with what you have and godly
living. In the last days people will
listen to seducing spirits, doctrines
of devils, because good doctrine saves
and bad doctrine condemns [1 Timothy
4:1-5, 1Timohty 4:16].

Prosperity preaching is not sound
doctrine because the Kingdom of God is
not of this earth: now let me prove
that statement. A rich man, a rich
young ruler came to Jesus and said,
that he had kept all the commandments
from his youth, and asked what thing
he lacked to enter into the Kingdom of
God. Jesus commanded him to sell all
that he had and follow Him, only then
could the young man enter the kingdom.
[Luke 18:22] Wait, so why didn't Jesus
say, "good-job my son you are
prosperous, you have triumphed over
the devil and are a fine example of a
prospering Christian?" Well, because
the man couldn't be a part of God's
kingdom if he loved anything more than
he loved God [Matthew 10:37, Luke 18];
the rich young ruler had to prove his
love for God by believing his Son,
Jesus, and following Jesus. You can't
follow Jesus if you don't follow his
commands. The bible says to be rich
in good works not money.

So where should your treasure be? It
should be in heaven. "Sell that ye
have, and give alms; provide
yourselves bags which wax not old, a
treasure in the heavens that faileth
not, where no thief approacheth,
neither moth corrupteth." [Luke
12:33]. But no one wants to hear
that, right! That's why they have
hired teachers that will tell them
what they want to hear!

This is the end-time, so let's look
and see what Jesus tells the end-time
churches in the book of Revelation,
you know the book that preachers won't
preach from. Let me show you why.
[Revelations chapters 2 and 3] Jesus
speaks to the Seven end-time
churches...

[1] Letter to the Church in Ephesus:
[I know thy works, and thy labour, and
thy patience, and how thou canst not
bear them which are evil: and thou
hast tried them which say they are
apostles, and are not, and hast found
them liars: Nevertheless I have
somewhat against thee, because thou
hast left thy first love. Remember
therefore from whence thou art fallen,
and repent, and do the first works; or
else I will come unto thee quickly,
and will remove thy candlestick out of
his place, except thou repent.] The
church has left its first love, its
first faith, Christ Jesus, in order to
chase after gain; the love of money.
Money is the god of this world [1
Timothy 6:6-10]!

[2] Letter to the Church in Smyrna:
[I know thy works, and tribulation,
and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I
know the blasphemy of them which say
they are Jews, and are not, but are
the synagogue of Satan. Fear none of
those things which thou shalt suffer:
behold, the devil shall cast some of
you into prison, that ye may be tried;
and ye shall have tribulation ten
days: be thou faithful unto death, and
I will give thee a crown of life.]
Here Jesus says that the church’s
poverty has made them rich, their
riches are in heaven, because they
have been faithful; when you keep
God’s commandments this makes you
truly prosperous.

[3] Letter to the Church in Pergamos:
[I know thy works, and where thou
dwellest, even where Satan's seat is:
and thou holdest fast my name, and
hast not denied my faith, even in
those days wherein Antipas was my
faithful martyr, who was slain among
you, where Satan dwelleth. But I have
a few things
against thee, because thou hast there
them that hold the doctrine of Balaam,
who taught Balac to cast a
stumblingblock before the children of
Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto
idols, and to commit fornication.]
Jesus is upset with this church
because they have listened to false
doctrine(prosperity, and idolatry: do
as you please) and this church has not
kept the commands of Jesus.

[4] Letter to the Church in Thyatira:
[I know thy works, and charity, and
service, and faith, and thy patience,
and thy works; and the last to be more
than the first. Notwithstanding I have
a few things against thee, because
thou sufferest that woman Jezebel,
which calleth herself a prophetess, to
teach and to seduce my servants to
commit fornication, and to eat things
sacrificed unto idols. Behold, I will
cast her into a bed, and them that
commit adultery with her into great
tribulation, except they repent of
their deeds. And I will kill her
children with death; and all the
churches shall know that I am he which
searcheth the reins and hearts: and I
will give unto every one of you
according to your works.] Again Jesus
is upset with this church because they
have followed false doctrine! Jezebel
is the spirit of lust and whoredoms,
she represents the love of money and
every sin that comes from lusting
after gain, the god of this world.

[5] Letter to the Church in Sardis:
[I know your works, that you have a
name that you live, and are dead.]
This church thinks that it is
prospering and following Jesus,
however it is truly a dead church! It
has accepted false doctrine and has
been separated from Christ.

[6] Letter to the Church in
Philadelphia:
[I know your works: behold, I have set
before you an open door, and no man
can shut it: for you have a little
strength, and have kept my word, and
have not denied my name. Behold, I
come quickly: hold that fast which you
have, that no man take your crown.]
How can the crown be taken? You can
lose your rewards laid up in heaven by
listening to false teachers. Jesus is
pleased with this church because they
have held on to sound doctrine, and
tells them not to let anyone take it
from them, because they will lose
their crown. Paul says that
Christians crucify Christ anew when
they leave behind sound doctrine
[Hebrews 6:4-9].

[7] Letter to the Church of the
Laodiceans:
[I know your works, that you are
neither cold nor hot: I would that you
were cold or hot. So then because you
are lukewarm, and neither cold nor
hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
Because you say, I am rich, and
increased with goods, and have need of
nothing; and know not that you are
wretched, and miserable, and poor, and
blind, and naked: I counsel you to buy
of me gold tried in the fire, that you
may be rich; and white clothing, that
you may be clothed, and that the shame
of your nakedness does not appear; and
anoint your eyes with eye salve, that
you may see.] This church has accepted
the prosperity doctrine and will be
spewed out of the mouth of Jesus. They
are blind, miserable, and naked and
don’t even realize the state that they
are in. They have been completely
fooled by false teachers.

Now you can clearly see why most
preachers won't even preach from
Revelations. First of all they don't
want you to consider for even a second
that we are in the last days, they
want you to live a moral worldly life,
have a positive prosperous mindset,
and keep the money flowing in.
Secondly they know the state of the
church: the people don't want to hear
the truth. They don't want the party
to end, but the bible says that the
last days will be as the days of Noah
were [Matthew 24:38-39]. People lived
a riotous, worldly existence until the
rains started and the doors of the Ark
were shut. This is last call, repent
while the doors are open. The basic
tenant of God is that if a man is
qualified to preach then he will
preach sound doctrine, if not then he
is not qualified; is the church
following the guidelines [1 Timothy
3:1-6].
